Garlic cheese bread makes a good appetizer for the table, assuming your arteries can take all that cheese. The Potters is a great house combo, and is the Italian Stallion (recently added, and we hope it remains on the menu). Decent red sauce, lots of toppings options, respectable crust. Its the go-to place, for me, when I am in the area. When you walk in there on a normal night around 6pm, you will see families, crowding around giant slices of their perfectly made crust pizza and by 8pm, its just the calmer crowd, just wanting to watch the game or have a conversation with friends. The staff at Leaning Tower are so awesome-they are tentative without being overbearing, and know how to please their customers. Its at the heart of the 'artsy district', as I like to call it - in the heart of the Whittier neighborhood where young artists typically flock to rent apartments and hang out, its a really relaxed environment and perfect for any night of the week when you just want to relax. That place is the Leaning Tower of Pizza located at 2324 Lyndale Ave S, Minneapolis. But with a town that has so many small restaurants, it is hard to know where to start looking when you just want a simple, delicious slice of pizza, a cold beer, and the game on TV without hundreds of people flocking, flinging peanuts and being loud. And keeping with the area's wholesome Midwestern attitude, it should be that way. There are many little mom and pop-like places to eat in Minneapolis, MN.
